1. Agreement and eligibility
By installing, accessing, creating an account for, or purchasing AfterLid, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 16 and legally able to enter this agreement. If you use AfterLid for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind it.
These Terms are an agreement between you and Rajat Kumar Sajnani, sole proprietor of Eazee Consultancy, also trading as Just A Dev Company and AfterLid. The business address is Flat 42/A, Assayee Road, Cox Town, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560005, India. GSTIN: 29GFIPS1102A1ZS.
Mandatory consumer rights in your country remain unaffected. If you downloaded AfterLid through Apple, Apple’s applicable store terms also apply.
2. What AfterLid provides
AfterLid lets you choose among normal sleep, display-awake, and guarded lid-closed modes on a compatible Mac. Optional account features can show limited Mac status on a mobile device. Pro may add remote mode control, quiet mode-change alerts, and Character Studio features described at purchase. The separately distributed Mac app may also offer limited provider-usage connections when they are available and permitted.
AfterLid controls Mac power policy; it is not an AI model, cloud compute service, backup service, or guarantee that any particular job will complete. Your workloads continue on hardware, software, networks, accounts, and provider services that you control.
We may improve, replace, suspend, or discontinue features. We will give reasonable notice when a material change adversely affects a paid feature, except when security, legal, or operational urgency requires faster action.
3. Accounts and devices
- Provide accurate information and keep your sign-in methods and devices secure.
- Use the same authorized account only for devices you own or are permitted to control.
- Promptly unlink lost, sold, shared, or compromised devices.
- You are responsible for activity authorized through your account, except where caused by our failure to use reasonable security.
We may require re-authentication, suspend a remote command, or revoke a link where needed to protect users, systems, or the service.
4. Trial, subscriptions, billing, and cancellation
The Mac’s three power modes and safety limits are Free features. Eligible new accounts may receive a seven-day Pro trial. iPhone purchases use Apple’s App Store purchase sheet; a future Android release will use Google Play Billing; and the direct-download Mac app uses Dodo Payments in the browser. The applicable store or checkout shows the actual local price, billing period, trial eligibility, taxes, and renewal terms before you confirm a purchase.
The August beta offer is limited to 99 Mac tester places. Mac positions 1 through 50 receive three months of promotional Pro access and positions 51 through 99 receive one month. The reward is fixed when the account joins the beta programme, begins at that time, is limited to one place per account, has no cash value, and does not renew automatically. Windows users and later Mac signups may join the beta access queue but do not receive this early access Pro offer.
An auto-renewable subscription renews unless canceled through the store or Dodo Payments account before renewal. You can manage an Apple subscription in AfterLid’s Customer Center or at Apple subscriptions. Android subscriptions can be managed through Google Play subscriptions. Manage a Mac web subscription through the Dodo Payments customer portal link provided at checkout. Deleting an AfterLid account does not itself cancel any associated subscription.
Refunds are handled under the store’s rules and applicable law. Restoring a valid purchase reconnects its entitlement to the AfterLid account used in the app.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- access or control a Mac, account, provider, or workload without authorisation;
- bypass safety limits, authentication, rate limits, subscription checks, or platform protections;
- interfere with the relay, probe other accounts, distribute malware, or use AfterLid for unlawful activity;
- upload a character pack containing code, tracking, malicious content, or material you do not have the right to use;
- resell or provide the consumer service as a managed service unless we agree in writing.
You retain rights in character artwork you import. You grant AfterLid only the device-local permissions needed to validate, render, and display it. Built-in AfterLid software, branding, and artwork remain protected by applicable intellectual-property law.
6. Apple, AI providers, and other third parties
Clerk, RevenueCat, Apple, Google, Dodo Payments, OpenAI, Anthropic, Cursor, hosting providers, and other connected services are independent third parties with their own terms and availability. You are responsible for maintaining any required provider account and complying with its usage, automation, rate-limit, and content rules.
A provider-usage connection is offered only to display a limited summary. It does not promise that a provider’s unofficial, restricted, or changing endpoint will remain available. We may disable a connector if permission, security, or reliability is unclear.
7. Power, heat, battery, and workload risk
Always On is guarded, not risk-free.
Long-running work consumes energy and can create heat. Use your Mac on a stable, ventilated surface and follow Apple’s operating guidance. Never obstruct vents or run demanding work inside a bag, sleeve, bedding, or another enclosed space.
AfterLid includes time, battery, heartbeat, and thermal safeguards, but sensors, macOS, helper processes, networks, and hardware can fail. Monitor important work, maintain backups, and do not rely on AfterLid for medical, safety-critical, emergency, or other use where interruption could cause injury or major harm.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AfterLid is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant uninterrupted operation, completion of a workload, provider accuracy, or compatibility with every Mac or macOS release. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
8. Suspension, deletion, disputes, and changes
You may stop using AfterLid, unlink Macs, cancel Pro, or request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for a serious or repeated breach, security threat, fraud, or legal requirement. Where reasonable, we will provide notice and a chance to address the issue.
These Terms are governed by applicable law, without removing mandatory consumer protections or your right to use a local dispute forum where law provides it. Before filing a dispute, contact us so we can try to resolve it informally.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be signposted in the app or account service before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after the effective date means the updated Terms apply.
